Body Found on Rock River Near Rockford Airport

According to WIFR, A body was found in the Rock River this today at the corner of Beltline and South Main.  A local fisherman spotted the body on Monday morning and made the situation even worse, The New Milford fire department dispatched a boat to recover the body. Four people were en-route to where the body was found and their boat capsized. The water level on Rock river is still pretty high and the current is very strong, Rockford Fire Chief Derek Bergsten said that it was the current that caused the boat to do so.

Divers and another set of rescuers jumped in to help the occupants of the capsized vessel.2 out of the 4 people on the boat were taken to the hospital with minor injuries. The second group of rescuers were able to recover the body. At this point, they have been unable to identify the body and the investigation is on-going.
