See Future Cubs’ Stars Playing Close to Illinois at Beloit Sky Carp Home Opener
For baseball fans, this is an exciting time of year, when every team has hope and a chance to make a run for a World Series.
Opening Day at Wrigley Field
Opening day for my Chicago Cubs is Friday (4/4) at Wrigley Field, with first pitch set for 1:20 pm against the San Diego Padres, who come into the Windy City with a perfect 7-0 record to start the season.

The Cubs are coming off a 3-game sweep of the Oakland A's in Sacramento, California, where the offense was dominating, so the hope of flying the W on opening day is high.
Weather Could Impact Cubs' Home Opener
However, the current forecast for Friday in Chicago could delay some of the fun at the corner of Clark and Addison, with a 50 percent chance of showers expected in the afternoon, according to the Weather Channel.

If you don't want to deal with the traffic and big crowds that are likely in Wrigleyville for the opening weekend, you can see the Cubs' future stars just a 30-minute drive from Rockford.
Catch Future Chicago Cubs Stars in Wisconsin
The Miami Marlins High-A Minor League affiliate, the Beloit Sky Carp, will have their home opener on Friday as they start a three-game weekend series against the South Bend Cubs.
On Friday at ABC Supply Stadium, it's a 6:05 pm first pitch for the Cubs at Sky Carp, and a 1:05 pm first pitch on Saturday and Sunday.
Top 15 Cubs Prospects Playing in Beloit
Over the past few years, I've seen some great young talent come through Beloit when the South Bend Cubs come to town, and this weekend will be no different.
Three of the Cubs’ Top 15 Prospects will be on the South Bend roster, including:
SS/2B Jefferson Rojas (Ranked No. 7 in Cubs system, No. 95 in MLB)
RHP Jaxon Wiggins (Ranked No. 10 in Cubs system) – Set to start Friday
SS/2B Cristian Hernandez (Ranked No. 12 in Cubs system)
