Experts say we are in the peak of fall colors right now in Northern Illinois, and I couldn't agree more. This past weekend my family took a scenic drive down Route 2 into Oregon, and the colors were spectacular to see along the river!

If soaking up every bit of beauty and Fall fun is your favorite thing to do during this time of the year, you should totally add a trip to Klehm Arboretum in Rockford to this week's to-do list. Here's why....

Autumn at the Arboretum is happening now through Sunday, October 18, and the agenda is chocked full with free family fun to take advantage of like; a self-guided fall color tour and scavenger hunt, free webinars about fall colors, a dog costume contest, and even a straw bale maze for the kiddos.

When I first learned about this event, I immediately thought, this is the perfect opportunity to take some fall family photos at one of Rockford's beloved gems!

Fall scavenger hunts are always a fun thing to do with your kids, so Klehm Arboretum has made their scavenger hunt available to download ahead of time here, but it might be cool to print it out and use it in your own neighborhood this week as well.

One last thing, don't forget to keep a close eye on Klehm Arboretum's Facebook too because they are posting, fun educational videos that might be a good thing to feature in your remote-learning lesson plan this week as well.
