Everyone knows Door County, Wisconsin is a beautiful place to visit with fun things to do any time of the year, but I'm assuming you've never heard of Chambers Island in Door County before...I know I haven't, and now I am super intrigued.

Chambers Island is located 7.5 miles offshore from Fish Creek. It was named for Talbot Chambers, a colonel who sailed these waters in 1816, on the way to establish a military post in Green Bay.

Because Chambers Island is about as off-the-grid as you can get. There are homes on the island, but there is no commercial electricity there. There are no stores on the island or touristy attractions, but it is a BEAUTIFUL place to go on an adventure.

Chambers Island has plenty of trails and unpaved roads to hike on, beaches with stunning views to relax at, there's even a lake and a lighthouse on the island for you to explore.
