The massive storm that hit Northern Illinois on Thursday has led to the cancellation of one of our favorite events of the summer, Alpine Kiwanis Brat Days, but there are still ways you can help.

Many Northern Illinois residents are still reeling from the storms and heavy rainfall that hit the area yesterday, but unfortunately, more are on the way today:

Alpine Kiwanis 2025 Brat Days Cancelled
After both Brat Days event setups were completely trashed by Thursday's high winds and heavy rainfall, the Alpine Kiwanis were forced to make a dreaded decision for the first time ever:
After the cancellation announcement was made on Thursday night, obviously, many people were upset, but many others didn't understand just how bad the damage was.

To some it may appear that a cleanup and new tents are all that is needed to allow Brat Days to continue, but sadly, that is far from the case. Most of the equipment needed to pull off Brat Days was damaged by the storm too, making rescheduling impossible for this year.
How to Support the Alpine Kiwanis
Brat Days is by far the biggest fundraiser the Alpine Kiwanis does each year, so its cancellation is going to be detrimental to charities and organizations supporting children all over the Stateline area that depend on Alpine Kiwanis' fundraising support.
