The 4th of July has come and gone, most schools will be back in session in about a month, so in my mind that means it's time to start thinking about fall!

Fall Fun in Northern Illinois

Summer lovers may be mad at me right now for saying the F word, but I promise I'm not trying to wish summer fun away quickly! I just really love the fall season and am excited to see signs that it's just around the corner.

We may still be a ways off from raking leaves, cold nights, and picking pumpkins, but I can't help but smile seeing fall event save-the-dates pop up all over my social media feed, especially opening day announcements for our favorite local apple orchards!

Opening Days For Rockford Area Orchards

Before I get to the fall opening dates for some of the Stateline area's favorite apple orchards, I need to remind you that Curran's Orchard in Rockford is open with special summer hours, but there are only three weekends left! (Curran's has not yet officially announced a fall opening date.)

Now let's get to other orchard opening dates you need to mark on your calendar ASAP:

Edwards Apple Orchard in Poplar Grove, IL and Edwards Apple Orchard West in Winnebago, IL - Friday, August 22

Valley Orchard in Cherry Valley, IL - Monday, August 25

Jonamac Orchard in Malta, IL - Wednesday, August 20

Kuipers Family Farm in Maple Park, IL - Saturday, August 23

These four orchards are only the beginning of the many family-friendly fall attractions in Northern Illinois, so make sure you keep a close eye on social media for when those dates start popping up!
