A New Study Just Revealed Illinois’ Favorite Streaming Service

We all know Netflix is big, like really big.

Apparently, Netflix is so big, it's the most popular streaming service on Earth.

That's not really much of a surprise when you consider Netflix has over 200 million subscribers worldwide.

That said, is it the most popular streaming service in America? Actually, no it's not.

THE MOST POPULAR STREAMING SERVICE IN AMERICA

The most popular streamer in the US according to Electrical Direct is Amazon's Prime Video service.

The map they shared also shows Netflix barely comes in second place overall. ESPN is tops in five states in America with Netflix taking the lead in only six.

ILLINOIS FAVORITE STREAMING SERVICE

Wisconsin, along with many states in the midwest say Prime Video is their favorite, but here in Illinois, well, we like Netflix.

When you consider Netflix is the home of original shows and movies like Orange Is the New Black, Extraction, Bird Box, Spenser Confidential, 6 Underground, and The Witcher are produced on the streamer it makes sense.

After all, those six movies and shows all have been viewed a minimum of 76 million times according to Time.

METHODOLOGY

To figure it out, Electrical Direct used "Google search volume for 42 different streaming services in every country was analyzed to determine the most popular streaming services across the world."

Essentially, that means we're searching for Netflix in Illinois more than Amazon Prime, Hulu, and the rest.
