If your family loves to score a whole lot of Halloween candy in one place instead of going door-to-door working for it,  you're gonna love the city-wide trunk-or-treat planned for October 30, 2017 in Rockford.

I've got to admit, I have a love/hate relationship with trunk-or-treats. As a parent who has her children's safety as top priority, I love them. As a neighbor who loves to do it up and hand out candy to local cuties in costume on Halloween, I hate them.

Am I the only one that feels a little sad that the tradition of door-to-door trick-or-treating is being replaced by trunk-or-treat events? Don't get me wrong, I think this city-wide trunk-or-treat is a great event for kids and families alike, but what I love most about it is that it's happening the day BEFORE Halloween. Now my family can enjoy the best of both worlds when it comes to Halloween!

Better mark this day on your calendar now:

When: Monday, October 30, 2017 from 6 to 8 p.m.
