It's hard to believe that Thanksgiving is already next Thursday. We've been so busy talking about the Cubs and the election that we've forgottten what's really important: golden brown turkeys, buttery; cumulus cloud like mashed potatoes and savory pumpkin pie. Too bad you don't know how to make any of it.

Next week I'm heading back to Minnesota to spend the holiday with my son Tanner, unfortunately our immediate family will be in Arizona so it's just me and him, and guess what, I'm one of those that can't cook a Thanksgiving dinner. Ok, maybe "can't" isn't the right word, I'm just not that skilled.

Whether you're like me and you're without family, can't cook, don't want to handle the mess or simply want to do something different for the big feast this year, there are a handful of restaurants in Rockford and the Rockford area that would be happy to have you at their dinner table.
