Once again, all of us here at Q98.5 and the Salvation Army are humbled and extremely proud of the difference we made this past Friday at the annual 12 Hours of Salvation Army Toy Drive at the Lou Bachrodt Automall. Over 8,400 toys and $3,000 cash in the red kettle was collected, and it's all thanks to you!

It's moments like this that make me extremely proud to be a member of this community, So many of our friends and neighbors are down on their luck, need our help, and together we helped to relieve one of their heavy burdens. Because of your generosity, young children and families will be able to smile Christmas morning and hopefully feel the true spirit of Christmas.

I took many pictures throughout the day, but none seemed to do the day justice like this time lapse video. To watch the toy pile grow makes my heart smile, and I hope it does the same for you...

Isn't that amazing?!?

There are so many people to thank who made this day possible, I can't even begin to list them all. I do want to say a special thanks to the Lou Bachrodt Automall for being such generous hosts, and for working so darn hard to "let there be light" when the power went out! Also thank you to Walgreens, Santa, and Photobooth Rockford for providing us with lasting photo memories to cherish. Thank you to all the choirs for providing their gifts of talent, and to all the businesses who donated money and toys in  support of their community.

From all of us here at Q98.5, thank you. We are so very lucky, proud, and honored to be a part of your lives and community.

Merry Christmas!
