On the fourth anniversary of that EF-4 tornado, WTVO/Fox39 Chief Meteorologist Candice King shared a message of remorse related to that day of destruction.

I remember that night feeling like I had failed. I had failed as a meteorologist and I failed those who had lost their life or were injured.

This is a good reminder to truly appreciate your area's meteorologists and the effort they put into their jobs. Often, we're too quick to question their skills when meteorologists "get it wrong." We (the Rockford area) are in the upper midwest, where the weather changes at the blink of an eye. Let us all understand, when the weather changes and becomes worse than originally calculated, our meteorologists take it to heart.
