New Survey Says These Are the 5 Worst Pizza Chains in Illinois

Illinois is widely known for having great pizza and TONS of great pizza places to choose from, so if you're on a mission to find the best pizza in Illinois, here are 5 places you should probably avoid.

Does Bad Pizza Actually Exist?

When it comes to pizza, I'm of the mind that there is no such thing as bad pizza. Sure, some pizzas are better than others, but I'd rather eat a bad frozen or freshly-made pizza over a plate of brussels sprouts any day of the week.

That being said, if you are a person that only wants to eat truly unique and delicious pizza, here are five pizza chains you might want to avoid.

The Worst Pizza Chains in America

The website 24/7 Wall St. recently conducted a survey to find the worst pizza chains in America, and before I reveal the results I do want to say, I've had 4 out of these 5 pizzas before and I'd have zero issues eating them again.

To determine the results, 24/ Wall St.;

consulted pizza reviews on five different food blogs and websites. Because pizza preferences are so subjective, we only included pizza chains that were ranked near the bottom on multiple sites.

5. Domino's

24/7 Wall St. says the common criticism for Domino's was "lack of quality consistency" and "low quality toppings". Domino's does change its menu a lot, could that be a contributing factor?

4. Papa Murphy's

I happen to enjoy this take n' bake pizza, but 24/7 Wall St. said most people complained about "inferior ingredients" and the texture of the crust.

3. Little Caesars

When I was in high school this was my favorite kind of pizza, but honestly, I have not eaten it in YEARS. Apparently, many of the people in this survey complained most about "low quality ingredients".

2. Cici's 

This is one pizza I have never tried before, and it looks like they only have one location in Illinois, which is in Naperville. Cici's features an inexpensive all-you-can-eat pizza buffet, but be aware, 24/7 Wall St. says Cici's was vouted the worst pizza on many of the sources they surveyed.

1. Chuck E. Cheese's

I don't know anyone who goes to Chuck E Cheese's just for the pizza, but apparently some people do and they were not pleased. 24/7 Wall St. says Chuck E. Cheese's "narrowly beat" Cici's as the worst pizza chain in America, and that most people complained about "unappetizing cheese, toppings that lack quality, cardboard-like crust, and high prices".
