Would You Want to Stay Overnight In a Wisconsin Cabin Surround By Lions and Tigers?
If you're looking for a unique family getaway to take this summer, look no further than Wisconsin Big Cat Rescue and Education Center in Rock Springs, Wisconsin.
What is Wisconsin Big Cat Rescue?
According to their Facebook, the mission of Wisconsin Big Cat Rescue and Education Center is simple; "a rescue for Big Cats (Lions, Tigers, Leopards, etc...) We give them a safe and healthy home to live out the rest of their lives in peace.."
Wisconsin Big Cat Rescue is open to the public during the Spring, Summer, and Fall months and offers walking, drive-thru, or informative tours of all the majestic big cats they have living there. The only things you will NEVER see at Wisconsin Big Cat Rescue are its cats jumping through hoops (literally) or taking pictures with visitors because it puts too much stress on the animals. The rescue runs entirely on donations and admission fees and it even offers a chance to sleep amongst their awesome big cats!
Sleeping With Big Cats
I realize staying overnight in a cabin that allows you to fall asleep to the sounds of lions and tigers roaring is not everyone's cup of tea, but it most certainly is mine! I absolutely LOVE tigers and lions and think they are some of the most beautiful animals on Earth. So, being able to stay somewhere that allows me to see them right when I wake up in the morning and before I go to bed at night is beyond awesome!
Wisconsin Big Cat Rescue has two different cabins available to rent on their property, and I think either of them is a great excuse to treat the family to a special getaway.
The Family Cabin
The Family Cabin features 1 bedroom with a king-size bed, a loft play area for kids, a full bathroom with shower/tub, a full kitchen with all the amenities, a living room that has a Queen sofa sleeper, a double recliner loveseat, TV's in the living room and bedroom, wifi, and cable. There is also a private deck with a picnic table, gas grill, and fire pit to enjoy.
The Spa Cabin
The Spa Cabin features 1 bedroom with a king-size bed, a full bathroom with a Valencia spa shower/hot tub, a full kitchen with all the amenities, a living room with a queen sofa sleeper, and a 65-inch TV. This cabin also has a private deck, gas grill, and fire pit for you to enjoy.
Staying at either of the cabins at Wisconsin Big Cat Rescue also gives you access to roam their rescue during open hours and the chance to join their special morning feeding tours.
