The Powerball jackpot is growing by over $1 billion for this week's drawing, and there's one person in Illinois who is currently holding a ticket that's already won $900,000.

What Are Your Odds of Winning a Billion Dollars

When the jackpot in any lottery gets larger, that just means your chances of winning are getting smaller as more and more people buy in for their shot to take the money.

According to the official Powerball website, the odds of winning this Wednesday's (7/19) drawing that's reached an estimated $1,000,000,000 is 1 in 292,201,338.00.

If you really want to win some money, it may not be $1 billion, but your odds are better when you play these Illinois lottery games.

You May Be Holding a $900,000 Winning Ticket

A 7-Eleven customer bought an Illinois Lottery 'Lucky Day Lotto' that's worth a cool $900K. According to WCIA-TV, the winning ticket was purchased at the Elgin location of 7-11.

Check your numbers. There wasn't a grand prize Powerball winner last night, so Wednesday there could be another instant Millionaire.

Many of the included towns jump out at the casual observer as popular summer-rental spots--the Ozarks' Branson, Missouri, or Arizona's Lake Havasu--it might surprise you to dive deeper into some quality-of-life offerings beyond the beach and vacation homes. You'll likely pick up some knowledge from a wide range of Americana: one of the last remaining 1950s-style drive-ins in the Midwest; a Florida town that started as a Civil War veteran retirement area; an island boasting some of the country's top public schools and wealth-earners right in the middle of a lake between Seattle and Bellevue; and even a California town containing much more than Johnny Cash's prison blues.
