During COVID-19 in Rockford, who should you be tipping and how much?

I've tried to be a pretty good tipper whenever possible. I learned that from my father. He always tipped well. I think you have to take care of the people that take care of you. Plus, for many jobs that deal with tips, that's part of the salary.

In this COVID-19 era, there are even more instances where a tip might be nice for the service.

For example, entertainers like musicians, comedians, and others aren't touring so they lost their main source of income. They are performing shows on the internet for fans. It's a good idea to tip them after. It's like buying a ticket for a show.

When I order curbside, I'll put in a tip when I pay but I normally wouldn't for carry out before. Again, these are restaurant workers that are working far less.

Who are some people you should tip, that maybe you didn't normally and how much?

  • Grocery delivery - 20%
  • Restaurant delivery - 15-20%
  • Carryout - 10-20%

It's not a bad idea to overtip depending on the person and situation. Also, think about anyone in the service industry that could accept one.
