What to Do If You See a Fawn Lying Next to an Illinois Roadway

'Tis the season for Illinoisans to head to Wisconsin for some fun in the sun, and seeing deer along the roadway is a regular occurrence in any drive across the border.

Obviously, seeing deer along the road is not something that only happens in Wisconsin, but since I am super pumped about finally getting to my family's cabin up north soon, my thoughts are zeroed in on Wisconsin driving. Anyway, let's get back to the point of this post...

I will be the first to admit that if I saw this adorableness on the side of the road I would automatically start screaming, "honey, pull over", but let's face it, raising my own Bambi is a far cry from what is best for this sweet creature. There are several licensed wildlife rehab centers in the Stateline, like Hoo Haven in Durand, who you should call before you pick up a fawn you believe is in danger.
