Visitors Under 18 Temporarily Banned From Rockford-Area Hospitals

Winnebago County Health Department (WCHD) is reporting influenza numbers are increasing despite it not yet being the worst time of the flu season. Because of this, WCHD is enforcing a "control measure", restricting young visitors and those showing flu-like symptoms.

According to Mercyhealth Rockford Region via WCHD,

Effective immediately, and until further notice, hospital visitors will be limited to those individuals 18 years of age and older. In addition, anyone showing flu-like symptoms should refrain from visiting patients in the hospital. All treatment services are still available to all patients.

This temporary restriction is in effect at Crusader Community Health, all Mercyhealth hospitals, St. Anthony, and SwedishAmerican.
