A Squad Car’s Point of View of Officer Jaimie Cox’s Procession
A man named Jacob Heiser attached his GoPro to the roof of a cop car that was part of the funeral procession for fallen Rockford Police Officer Jaimie Cox on Saturday, November 11, 2017. It captured about two hours of footage that was then edited down into a 9:25 second video.
Ever since Officer Cox's tragic death, I have been so moved by, and proud of the support that this community has shown for not only the family of Officer Cox, but all of his brothers and sisters in blue.
By now we've heard that hundreds of people lined the streets of Rockford during Jaimie Cox's procession. We still see the support still today with blue ribbons and lights blazing all over the Stateline. The loss of Officer Cox rocked this community, but for some reason, this video really made me understand how much.
To see all those people lining the streets brings tears of pride to my eyes. Thank you, Jacob Heiser for sharing this footage with us, and thank you, Rockford for taking a standing when it matters most.
