Loves Park Valli Produce Closing for Good—Here’s Why
Valli Produce currently operates two grocery stores in the Rockford area, but that won't be the case in just a couple of weeks.
Grocery Shopping in Rockford
Some people love going to grocery store, but I am not one of those people.
The price of groceries these days added to the fact that I don't enjoy cooking, makes grocery shopping one of life’s most dreaded necessities for me. Basically, I want to get the shopping done quickly and for the least amount of money possible, but it's very hard to do with two young, constantly-snacking children at home.
For the people that enjoy cooking and browsing through aisles of possible ingredients, then grocery stores that offer a large variety of products are a must have. Sadly, the Rockford area will be down one of those types of stores soon.
Valli Produce in Loves Park is Closing
Honestly, I've only been to Valli Produce a couple of times since they opened in the Rockford area in 2004, but I have heard people rave about their produce and unique product selections for years.
For that reason, and because I hate to see local stores close and people lose jobs, I was bummed to see this news on mystateline.com:
Valli Produce will close its Loves Park grocery store in early August.
A spokesperson for Valli Produce said that a "downturn in foot traffic at the Loves Park store" is what prompted the closing, but the Rockford location at 5880 E State St. will remain open, and all Loves Park Valli employees will be moved to the Rockford location.
Valli Produce in Loves Park will permanently close on August 4, 2025, so if this is your favorite local place to stop for groceries, you better get in there ASAP.
