If you saw smoke this morning in Rockton on Yale Bridge Road, it was the scene of a tragic home fire. Here is the latest.
According to WIFR-TV and the Winnebago County Sheriff's Office, a 58-year-old woman has died after a house fire in Rockton, Illinois.

The woman's 61-year-old husband was taken to a local hospital for second degree burns and smoke inhalation. His condition is unknown. The families two dogs were not killed in the fire, however they are being treated by animal services.

Apparently, the fire started shortly after 7:00 a.m. Thursday morning in the 5200 block of Yale Bridge Road, west of Williams Tree Farm. Multiple fire crews were called to the scene. Smoke was reported all morning long throughout the Stateline area.

At this time, investigators believe the fire started in the garage. The home is a total loss and the damage is estimated at $700,000. No cause has been determined by investigators at this time.
