A new app available for your phone will lead you on a guided tour of historic sights in downtown Rockford.

Last summer, I had an issue with one of the tires on my car. I hit one of those famous Rockford potholes. I took it to a place downtown to get fixed. It was a nice day and I had some time to kill, so I decided to take a walk. It was relaxing just wandering around with no more to be. We have some really interesting things to check out in our city. I had only wished there was some sort of map or guided tour to point out the sights. Well, now there is. All you need is to download a simple app onto your phone.

According to theclio.com

"Monuments and Memorials Tour, Rockford's Main Street District. Rockford has a rich history of honoring those who contribute to our nation. This tour includes memorials to these individuals in the downtown River and Main Street Districts. This Tour is a Walking Tour."

From the Veterans Memorial Hall Facebook page...

I forget how many historic places we have to check out in downtown Rockford. That new app includes the following spots to visit.

I believe this would be a great way to get out of this house this spring. You can get your steps in, have some fresh air, do some family bonding, and learn a little bit too.

Let me know if you give it a try.
