The numbers are in. Hunters in Illinois harvested 57,968 deer during first weekend of firearm season  Nov 20-22.

Illinois hunters blew past last year's total of deer harvested during the first weekend state's firearm season by more than 6,000 deer. The numbers are provided by the Illinois Department of Natural Resources.

• 2015: 57,968 deer
• 2014: 51,830 deer

The second weekend of this year's deer season is runs through this Sunday, December 6th.

• The Illinois County that topping the list was Randolph County: 1,619 deer.
• The fewest were in Lake County where only four deer were taken.

Hunters in Illinois harvested a preliminary total of 57,968 deer during the first weekend of the Illinois Firearm Deer Season, Nov. 20-22. Hunters took 51,830 deer during the first firearm weekend in 2014.
