Toby Keith to Perform at Illinois Inaugural Concert Monday

This Monday new leadership takes over at the Governor's Mansion and this new Governor likes country music! Gov.-Elect Bruce Rauner announced that Toby Keith will headline his Jan. 12 inaugural concert at Prairie Capital Convention Center in Springfield.

Also scheduled to perform, legendary blues singer Buddy Guy, who will hit the stage after Toby.

So you may ask is Toby Keith a Republican, like Rauner? Not Quite,  Toby was a long-time democrat, openly re-registered himself as an independent in 2008 according to NBC Chicago.

Schedule:

• Sunday Night: Rauner will throw an $1,000-per-plate dinner reception at the Capitol
• Monday: 11 a.m. Bruce Rauner's inauguration ceremony at the Convention Center.
• Monday: Bruce Rauner officially becomes Governor
• Monday: The  concert will begin at 8:30 p.m. and go until 12 a.m. Tickets going for $125 each - OUCH! Though, admission includes food and beverages. Seats will be filled on a first-come, first-serve basis, after the concert will be an after-party.
