Holiday Decorations Back In The Day

When I was growing, my mom was definitely one of those few parents who had decorations for every holiday. Not very many people went all out like they do today.

Of course, some had more than others. Christmas was big with displays all over inside and outside of our house.

I remember for Halloween there were pictures that went up in the windows and a pumpkin on the front porch.

Easter was pretty impressive with the painted eggs, baskets, and bunnies.

My mother even had an area in our kitchen that was dedicated to the minor holidays and different seasons. Days like the 4th of July, Saint Patrick's Day, Valentine's Day, and more were represented there.

Decorating For Many Holidays Is Now A Thing

In today's world, holiday displays can be seen up and down every block and for many more than just Christmas. Several Neighbors on my block will also go all-in for Halloween, Easter, and others. I even noticed that Thanksgiving was added to the mix this year with big inflatable turkeys taking over yards in town.

I Am A Big Fan Of More Holiday Decorations

I am not going to lie, I love it. It is really awesome to see so many people with holiday spirit. There is a big smile on my face on the way to and from work when I see the decorations. It just puts me in a good mood. In fact, my family has joined in the action. We now have yard inflatables for Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.

Creativity Wins Every Time, Traffic Stopping Holiday Display

I am very impressed with how creative people have become. You know there is a great holiday outdoor display coming up when it stops traffic so drivers can catch a better glimpse and maybe even a picture. I actually recently had that experience while cruising around Rockford. This is what I saw. I thought it was hilarious and of course, had to stop to take a photo.

Now, that is really funny. Who would ever think a turkey would beat out Santa. Well, I guess everyone has their favorite holiday. Plus, Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas pretty much run into each other, so it is cool to see a couple of them combined together.
