There’s A Whooping Cough Outbreak in Ogle County

If you or your children have not been vaccinated for Pertussis/Whooping Cough, you might want to do that pronto.

According to WREX, the Rochelle Community School District, Polo and Oregon High Schools have all reported confirmed cases of Whooping Cough in the last week, and  the Ogle County Health Department is strongly urging the public to protect themselves...and seriously amp up the hand washing.

I'd be lying if I said I wasn't sweating this news a little bit. As a child I never received all three rounds of the Pertussis vaccination because I had a strong reaction to it. If you see me out wearing a mask in public, now you know why. Stay safe and healthy, my friends!
