I'm not ashamed to admit that for months now I have been driving slower than I should past the new Sweet Basil Café location in the former T.G.I. Friday's location at Harrison and Perryville in Rockford. To be fair, I live near there so I pass it often, but I'm sure I've ticked off a lot of drivers off with my slow, gawking speed.

Back to my point; the building has looked ready to go for weeks now, but still no "Grand Opening" sign in the window. My impatience is getting the best of me, so last night I hopped on Facebook to search for answers. I discovered that the Sweet Basil Cafe Rockford Facebook is now active, that they are still looking to hire serving staff, and...that it is opening today, Monday, June 28th!

Let's Talk About Sweet Basil Café Rockford's Menu

When you hop on Sweet Basil Cafe's website, the first thing you see is a mouth-watering pic of their "California Stuffed French Toast" which is made of "honey Oat Bran Bread, Filled with Our Homemade Amaretto Cream Cheese and Topped with Granola, Bananas and Strawberries". Yup, I'll take one of those please.

Let's dive deeper into Rockford's menu. My friends, I am here to tell you, it's massive. Skillets, omelets, steak and eggs, French Toast and Waffles, Homestyle oatmeal, crepes, breakfast burritos, lox dishes and oh, so much more await you for breakfast. For lunch and dinner you can choose from a variety of sandwiches, burgers, paninis, wraps, salads, soups, flatbread pizzas, pastas, seafood and much, much more.

Sweet Basil Café Rockford wait staff, I'm going to apologize to you right now. I will totally be the person that takes entirely too long choosing what to order this week. It's your fault though, a girl can't handle this many delicious items to choose from.
