
Teens Arrested in Rockford with 2 Machine Guns and 80 Grams of Marijuana
Rockford Police discovered guns and drugs during a traffic stop on the north end this week.
After Chase, Police Discover Dangerous Weapons and Weed
According to the RPD press release, officers from the SCOPE team pulled over a vehicle at N. Main and Jonathan Street on Wednesday night around 10:40 pm when one of the occupants fled.
After a brief chase, police officers took that individual and a second occupant of the vehicle into custody.

The individual who fled the scene was identified as a 16-year-old male of Rockford who was found with around 30 grams of cannabis, along with "a loaded handgun, with an automatic switch, light, and extended magazine," according to the report.
The other occupant was 18-year-old Trenton Reed of Rockford who was discovered with "a loaded handgun on his person which also had a fully-automatic switch and extended magazine," along with approximately 50 grams of cannabis, according to the Rockford PD press release.

Rockford Police says that with any investigation, these charges are "merely accusations and all individuals are considered innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law."
