Ya know, I got to thinking the other day about how expensive gas is in the country right now. We're all freaking out about it because we're starting to remember when gas used to be CHEAP CHEAP.
It really started to get interesting in January, didn't it? That's when prices at grocery stores in Illinois and throughout the U.S. reached a record-breaking high with the overall price of food costing 6.5% more than it did in 2021, marking the highest rate of inflation since the 1980s.
Prices on things are up across the board, Illinois' job market is one of the least recovered since COVID-19, and 330,000 Illinoisans are still out of work due to state-mandated lockdowns which have caused more than 1 million Illinois residents to lose their jobs.
