For several years in a row, my husband and I went to see the holiday shows performed each year at Rock Valley College's Studio Theatre. Then the Studio Theatre was closed due to the College's budget cuts, and we lost our newly established holiday tradition. It's been a real bummer...until now.

Starlight Theatre recently announced they will be performing "A Charlie Brown Christmas" on the stage of the Bengt Sjostrom Theatre for limited dates this December.

Yes, the Bengt Sjostrom Theatre is the outdoor theatre at Rock Valley College.

Yes, this show will technically be outdoors, but both the performance and the audience will be on the stage, which means this show will not only be intimate, but cozy too. (Yes, I believe they have the ability to heat the performance space up a bit, but hot chocolate and warm layers may enhance your show experience ).

Starlight Theatre will be performing "A Charlie Brown Christmas" at 7 p.m. on December 7, 8, 14 and 15 with 2 p.m. matinees on both Saturdays. Tickets will be going on sale soon, and will likely sell out fast! Stay up to date with all the ticket details here.

If you have the acting bug and want to be a part of the "A Charlie Brown Christmas" cast, auditions will be taking place next week, October 9 through the 11th, from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. For more info on the audition process call 815-921-2160 or go to rockvalleycollege.edu.
