It's about the time of the holiday season where panic sets in for online shoppers and people who ship presents to family members across the country.  Everyone is wondering...Will my packages make it on time?!?  Will there be a hold up and that causes Christmas to be ruined?!?

Stop, take a breath, and write these dates down now to relieve some of that holiday stress.

To guarantee your packages make it to their destinations by Christmas, the Rockford Post Office recommends shipping them no later than these dates:

  • USPS Retail Ground - December 14
  • First Class Mail Service - December 20
  • Priority Mail Service - December 20
  • Priority Express Mail Service - December 22

In anticipation of the busy weeks ahead, the Rockford Post Office has announced extended delivery services for the holiday season. Deliveries will begin earlier and extend later each day, and will be running 7 days a week.

Since our trusty postal workers will be out in the evening hours, please remember to leave a porch light on for them. Might not be a bad idea to leave a thank you snack or beverage out there waiting for them too. Just sayin'...
