In the suburbs of Chicago, a local favorite fast food joint is in serious jeopardy. In Berwyn, Illinois, residents rave about homemade sausages, fresh-cut fries, burgers that come from meat ground daily, and a fabulous catering team. The restaurant could soon close for good if patrons don't act fast.

Big Guys Sausage Stand

The reviews for Big Guys are outstanding. This is a must-visit if the foodie community steps forward to help.

Straight up Chicago dog. Fries killed too. Definitely worth finding!

This is one of those places that takes your favorite comfort fast food and cranks them to level 100.

After seeing all their posts on Facebook for a while we had to try them out. Gotta say some of the best French fries I’ve ever had and their burger was wonderful. We will be back!

And there's more than just burgers, fries, and links.

I literally had to stop eating my lemon chicken and rice soup to come here and share how flippin amazing it is.

This isn't a giant operation, it's a legit mom-and-pop joint. The food may be spectacular but to run the restaurant at full compacity has been challenging for the owner.

Over the last ten years this has been the most challenging year of business. More stressful than launching with 2 babies and an 8-year-old, harder than operating for a year while battling cancer, and worse than 2 years of COVID.

The restaurant owner fought through trials and tribulations and has previously come out on top, even being a debt-free business. However, food costs, labor, and machines needing to be repaired have added up to a level the owner never imagined. The biggest financial setback is needing the HVAC system replaced, "The most pressing is our HVAC, where we can’t operate in this old building when it gets this hot." Simply raising prices on the menu will be of no help at this point.

With the help of donations through a self-made Go Fund Me campaign, the owner assures the restaurant will not shutter should they reach their $100,000 goal.

Donating any amount will help us make necessary improvements, retain our beloved longtime staff, and roll out a new delicious and efficient menu.

The owner of Big Guys shared more details of what changes would be made should they reach their goal. As of this article, they have received more than $30,000 in donations. You can find the Go Fund Me campaign here.
