In past years, going to a friend's house or a local park was a great way to break the boredom, but now that they are getting older, it's a little trickier to keep them entertained.

The thrill of going to our neighborhood parks may be fading, but going to one they've never been to before? That's the key to success, and the first one we'll be checking out this summer is The Sandlot in Oak Brook, Illinois.

So, what makes The Sandlot so unique?

First off, this is not your average neighborhood park. The Sandlot was designed as a universal playground, meaning it was built so kids of all ages and abilities can have fun and play together. Plus, it's baseball themed!

The Sandlot looks like one of those places where kids can run, climb, spin, and explore for hours without getting bored, and there's even a place for adults to get in a little exercise while the kids play.
