In an exciting Instagram post, Rock Valley College's Starlight Theater has announced that they will be moving forward with a new season of shows.

The COVID-19 pandemic is still playing the lead role in all our Spring and Summer plans but this year there are some exceptions. Via their Instagram account, Starlight announced that there will be a new season, but with many safety protocols in place.

There will be a later start to the 2021 season, which begins on July 7 and will run through August 28. The later start gives our community more time to be vaccinated and for the actors to put together shows that really sizzle. Productions will run for two weeks and will also be back-to-back.

The tentative show schedule:

  • A Gentlemen’s Guide: July 7 - 17
  • You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown: July 21 - 31
  • Once Upon a Mattress: August 4 - 14
  • Little Shop of Horrors: August 18 - 28

The other big change for the 2021 season will be how we'll be able to attend shows in the beautiful Starlight Theater. The shows will operate at 20% capacity.

"Due to state and local guidelines as well as the understanding that we're all safer this way, our seating bowl, while normally able to fit up to 1041 beautiful patrons, will only be housing 200 each performance."
