If you've lived in Rockford for some time, you may remember the story of the "shoe box baby". If you don't remember it, please allow me to refresh your memory because it's a good one.

According to the Rockford Register Star; fourteen years ago a 15-year-old Rockford girl secretly gave birth to a baby boy in her bedroom. She, and the baby's father, then dressed the newborn in doll clothes, placed him in a shoe box, and brought him to Swedish American Hospital. The teens were planning to just drop the baby off under Safe Haven Law protection, but their plans changed after one Swede's nurse intervened.

I don't want to ruin the happy ending, so I will just say this; you will want to watch, or set your recordings for, The Doctors on WREX-TV at 11 a.m. today (Tuesday). The "shoe box baby", his grateful mother, and the nurse that changed their lives, were recently united on The Doctors, and their story airs today according to this Facebook post from Swedish American.
