Bring your mask and watch these predatory plants in action. Nicholas Conservatory reopens July 9th with a brand new display.

Predatory Plants: The Carnivorous Plant Display is the name of the new attraction at Rockford's Nicholas Conservatory and Gardens. Many species are part of this new display. Venus flytraps, pitcher plants, trumpet plants, butterworts, sundews, and more.

A carnivorous plant is one that gets most of its nutrients from trapping and eating animals or protozoans, typically insects.

The Conservatory recommends buying tickets before your visit. They even offer discounts for children, youth, seniors, and veterans. You can purchase your tickets HERE.

You will need to make sure you brings masks for everyone. According to rockfordparkdistrict.org, in areas of the Conservatory where six feet of social distance space does not allow itself, guests are asked to please wear a mask. Masks are required inside the Garden Gate Gift Store.

Nicholas Conservatory & Gardens is open Tuesday- Friday from 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. and Saturday 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Closed on Sunday and Monday.
