I'm not sure what is in the coffee over at WTVO/FOX but I want some. I know, this is odd coming from a morning radio guy but morning tv anchors are up much earlier than us radio folk. Maybe this explains why the people in the video you're about to watch have so much energy for jumping on live tv bright and early. Whitney Martin, Elliot Grandia, and Joey Marino make up a great trio for morning tv. I'll go as far as to call them a fresh of breath air on Rockford tv.

My fellow morning friends from 97ZOK, 96.7 The Eagle, and Shannon Zimmerman (a.k.a Lil Zim on Q98.5) are all apart of a daily feature on their show, Forest City Faceoff. Basically, it's a weekly segment to make me look as uneducated as possible. (And, yes, I'm laughing as I typed that.) And the fun doesn't stop there, it seems like there are all sorts of shenanigans happening both on and off camera. This is my chance to put Elliot on blast for a little mishap the morning of this article.

I've watched this video (or variations of it) several times and it still isn't old, so let me set up the scene. Joe Marino, WTVO's morning meteorologist, was doing a live weather update when Elliot Grandia realized there were 30-seconds on the clock to get across the newsroom to the desk before they were back on. Ordinarily, this might not be a problem except for the mug of hot coffee in his hand. (It is coffee, right Elliot?) The rest of the story is for you to enjoy.

I'm sure if you search YouTube long enough you'll find my brutal attempts at Forest City Faceoff, or just watch WTVO on Wednesday mornings at 6:20, or set your DVR.
