Multiple Rockford Roads to Close on Sunday for Popular Street Festival

Multiple streets near downtown Rockford will be closed this Sunday (6/7) for a popular street festival, with officials urging motorists to follow detours in the area.

Major Road Closures Planned for South Main Mercado

Motorists in Rockford should prepare for significant traffic impacts on Sunday as the annual South Main Mercado returns to the city's south side. The event is scheduled to begin at noon on June 7, but road closures associated with the festival will begin several hours earlier.

City officials announced that several streets surrounding the event area will be closed beginning at 7 a.m. to allow for event setup, pedestrian safety measures, and traffic control operations.
