There's certain things that just give you that adrenaline rush. Sky diving, racing a car around a track, riding a motorcycle around twists and curves, and one of my personal favorites, gliding across the snow on a snowmobile and feeling the wind in your face as you go faster. It really is a rush! For Rockford and northern Illinois residents its about to get even better.

The Illinois Department of Natural Resources have given park districts in northern Illinois more than half a million dollars for snowmobile trail projects according to WREX. Freeport Park District, Lena Community Park District, Rockford Park District, and Winnebago County Forest Preserve are the recipients. The snowmobile grant program is funded entirely by registration fees.

No word yet on when the projects will be done but if you ever get the chance to get out and have some fun on a snowmobile, take it!
