Rockford Respiratory Therapist Deemed “Hometown Hero” By a Nurse
The coronavirus battlefield was at large inside our hospitals both locally and nationally. However, the true heroes of the pandemic didn't quit, they never stopped doing everything that can to treat patients and save lives. This week's Hometown Hero was nominated by his wife not b because they're married, but because he truly is on the frontline in the fight with COVID-19.
Here's the submission we received from Melissa about why her husband, Paul, deserves special recognition.
I would like to nominate my husband as well as the rest of his department. My husband is a respiratory therapist at one of our area hospitals. With the current pandemic, I want to recognize not only him but the rest of his coworkers in the respiratory therapist department at OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center. They are the true heroes during this pandemic as they are the ones on the front line assisting patients when they are in respiratory distress and needing assistance during their health crisis. I am also a healthcare worker (nurse) but I want to truly commend him and his department as they are caring for an influx of patients. I would love if you could recognize my husband as well as the rest of his team. Thank you so much for taking the time to read this nomination.
We at Q98.5 are truly appreciative of selflessness, the love, and the care, all our healthcare workers are putting into saving lives in the midst of a pandemic.
As a Q98.5 Hometown Hero, Paul will receive a $100 Amazon gift card thanks to Gustafson's Furniture & Mattress. Although we're certain he won't spend it on himself, whatever he uses it for will bring joy to someone, and that's what life is all about.
