
Rockford Police Investigate Crash Involving Pedestrian and Squad Car
Rockford Police are continuing to investigate two separate weekend crashes that left multiple people injured and one squad car damaged.
Serious Crash Leaves Pedestrian Injured
According to the RPD press release, officers are investigating a late Sunday night (9/28) crash near 7th Street and 12th Avenue that left a 36-year-old man seriously injured.
When officers arrived on the scene, they discovered the man lying in the roadway and quickly transported him to a local hospital for treatment.

The driver remained on the scene, and he was identified as 21-year-old Damarius Bullock of Rockford. During their investigation, officers found a handgun, ammunition, and cannabis inside the vehicle.
Felony Charges Filed Against Rockford Man
After reviewing the case, the Winnebago County State's Attorney's Office authorized multiple charges against Bullock:
- Aggravated Unlawful Possession of a Weapon
- Possession of a Weapon Without a Valid FOID
- Possession of Ammunition Without a Valid FOID
- Aggravated Assault
- Possession of Cannabis
These charges are merely accusations, and Bullock is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
Second Crash Involving Rockford Police Squad Car
Just hours later, in the early morning hours of Monday (9/29), a separate crash occurred when a vehicle struck a Rockford Police squad car exiting onto South Alpine from Bypass 20.
According to the report, the officer, along with two occupants of the other vehicle, sustained minor injuries and were treated at the scene.

The driver of the vehicle, identified as Tracey McLin, 38, of Rockford, was charged with Driving Under the Influence of Drugs and Possession of Cannabis. There is a possibility that additional charges could be filed as the investigation continues.
