Rockford Police Crack Down on Drug Trafficking and Conspiracy Ring
The Rockford Police Narcotics Unit executed a high-stakes search warrant on Wednesday (9/4) that ended up being a significant victory in the city's ongoing battle against drug trafficking.
Arrests and Evidence Seized at Major Drug Bust on Garrett Lane
According to a press release from the Rockford Police Department, the operation took place just before 10 am on Wednesday morning at a residence in the 6800 block of Garrett Lane, located in a neighborhood behind the Home Depot off Perryville Road.
Before the search, suspects Ivory Holland and Kendrick Bell were apprehended in the 8000 block of E. State Street.
The arrest followed intelligence that the pair were plotting a home invasion in Chicago, and a search of their residence yielded over 228 grams of Fentanyl, 79 grams of Cocaine, ten MDMA pills, various drug paraphernalia, and a substantial amount of cash.
Following the arrest, both Holland and Bell were held in the Winnebago County Jail
10 Charges Filed Against 2 Rockford Men
After reviewing the case, the Winnebago County State's Attorney's Office approved the following charges against the 2 men from Rockford:
Kendrick Bell, 26
- Possession of a Controlled Substance
- Conspiracy to Commit Home Invasion
- Conspiracy to Commit Residential Burglary
- Conspiracy to Commit Robbery
Ivory Holland, 29
- Possession with Intent to Deliver Fentanyl
- Possession with Intent to Deliver Cocaine
- Possession with Intent to Deliver MDMA
- Conspiracy to Commit Home Invasion
- Conspiracy to Commit Residential Burglary
- Conspiracy to Commit Robbery
Charges against the two men are "merely accusations and all individuals are considered innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law," according to the Rockford Police Department.
