In the early hours of August 21, 2024, Rockford Police officers on patrol in the area of Kishwaukee and Pope witnessed two individuals walking in the middle of the street around 1:50 a.m.

Upon noticing the officers, the individuals fled, leading to a brief foot chase. The suspects, identified as Cordero Blan and Domanique Williams, were apprehended shortly after.

Rockford Police Capture Suspects with Loaded Firearms

During the investigation, officers recovered two loaded handguns from the suspects. This discovery prompted a thorough review by the Winnebago County State’s Attorney’s Office, which led to the formal charges against both individuals.

Cordero Blan, 36, faces multiple charges including Unlawful Use of a Weapon by a Felon, Armed Habitual Criminal, No Valid FOID, and Resisting Arrest.

Domanique Williams, 33, is charged with Unlawful Use of a Weapon by a Felon, No Valid FOID, and Resisting Arrest. Both are now facing legal consequences for their actions.

The charges are merely accusations and all individuals are considered innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law, according to the Rockford PD press release.
