Have you looked at the forecast for today? I double checked my calendar and it says December 4th, yet it's going to be 61 degrees. Really, Illinois? I'm ready for snow.

But, I digress. You don't necessarily need snow for it to feel like Christmas; what you really need is evergreens covered in lights, tinsel and bulbs; Christmas tunes playing on the radio, aisles of peppermint flavored candy, holiday movies and Santa.

Rockford has all of that...and more; which is why it's been named one of the most magical Christmas towns in Illinois.

That's according to Chicago Parent, who named Rockford, Galena, Woodstock and five other towns as "8 Magical Towns Near Chicago."

The parenting blog highlighted Rockford's Stroll on State, and said, "If your family loves holiday light displays, see the sparkling illuminations mixed with gorgeous floral displays at Nicholas Conservatory and Gardens or explore downtown Rockford to see dazzling synchronized displays from the Rockford River Lights."
