This Saturday check out this live streaming festival featuring Rockford musicians.

The "shelter in place" and "social distancing" continues.

During difficult times like our current situation, there's one thing that calms me down. That is music. It's my escape and takes me to my "safe" place.

Of course, we are unable to get together and hang out at concerts. Luckily, technology has come a long way. We can now enjoy the happiness of live music without leaving the comforts of our own sofa.

It has been an incredible jump to the internet. Everyday, there are musicians streaming shows on social media giving the fans a new intimate experience. The feeling has been amazing. It brings light to a dark time.

Rockford, Illinois has been a hot bed of musical talent for years. Any given weekend, there are multiple opportunities to see it showcased on stages at area clubs. Since, we can't go to them, these Forest City entertainers are bringing the tunes to us.

Thanks to "Unplug The Rock Acoustic Festival," the Rock River Valley is going to host their first live streaming music festival. All of it completely on the internet. After putting on many live events throughout our community, these talented artists will be hitting the web armed with their instruments.

It's happening this Saturday, April 4th. I'm going to kick things off at 11:25 am. Don't worry, I won't be singing because that wouldn't be good for anybody.

Here's the line-up...
