Rockford Has The 63rd Highest STD Rate In The U.S.
A new report from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention revealed the STD rates for the largest U.S. cities.
The cities with the most total STD cases (HIV, syphilis, chlamydia, and gonorrhea) in the US are:
- Los Angeles, CA (92,401)
- Chicago, IL (58,322)
- Houston, TX (36,710)
- Phoenix, AZ (34,973)
- Philadelphia, PA (28,866)
Chicago ranked 40th in the US in STD rate, taking population size into consideration along with STD, HIV, chlamydia, gonorrhea, and syphilis cases.
Also on the list, Peoria showed up with the 16th highest STD rate in the US, and Champaign as 50th highest.
Rockford ranked 63rd highest, with 932 STD cases per 100,000 people. 26 reported HIV, 1980 chlamydia, 659 gonorrhea, and 9 syphilis cases in the city.
No other Illinois city ranked in the top 100 in the U.S.
