Living less than two hours from a major city like Chicago comes with a lot of advantages. We're close to major airports, world-class entertainment venues, shopping, museums, and unique opportunities like being an extra for a national TV show or a movie filming in Chicago.

I've had plenty of experiences with our local television news stations, but the one thing I have never done, and would love to do, is be an extra for a major TV show or film.

If you've always wondered what it's really like to star in a TV show or movie, you can get an up close look this Saturday, August 9, in Byron!

'Counterfeit' the Film

Film crews have been hard at work all summer long, all around the Rockford area, shooting a new indie feature film called 'Counterfeit', and principal filming is scheduled to finish this weekend.

This movie from Illinois' Dashford Media is a gritty crime drama about a "compulsive police impersonator" that is bound to be packed with unexpected twists and surprises that we have an opportunity to get a sneak peek of.

Many Stateline area businesses and landmarks have already had their moment to shine in 'Counterfeit':
