A couple of weeks back we told you about the Rockford athlete who was headed to Abu Dhabi to compete in the Special Olympics World Games.

She made Rockford proud by winning gold in her event!

Congrats to Susan Kuborn from Rockford who took home the gold for the 1,500-meter run.

She was the only athlete from Rockford to head to Abu Dhabi to compete in the 2019 Special Olympics World Games.

Kuborn was also only one of seven athletes from Illinois to compete in the games.

Congratulations again Susan!!!!
