A search of a home in a southeast Rockford neighborhood turned up a huge amount of firearms and ammunition sending four individuals to jail.

Rockford PD's Gang Crime Unit and Intel Unit conducted a raid on Wednesday (3/6) around 11:30 am in the 4000 block of Seward Avenue where law enforcement uncovered a large stash of weapons.

Automatic Weapons and Assault Rifle Found During Rockford Raid

According to the press release from the Rockford Police Department, here are the guns that were confiscated during the search:

  • Assault Rifle
  • Fully Automatic Handgun (modified)
  • 5 Handguns with High-Capacity Magazines

Assorted ammunition and two conversion kits that can modify handguns to full automatic were also located within the Seward Avenue residence.

Over 500 grams of cannabis was also found during the search of the home, according to the press release.

4 Rockford Men Arrested on More Than a Dozen Charges

The Winnebago County State's Attorney's Office reviewed the case and has charged four men, all of whom are from Rockford.

Two of the male suspects are 19-years-old, Marcus McGhee and Demetrius Burrell. McGhee was charged with Unlawful Possession of a Machine Gun, and Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon.

Burrell was charged with 2 counts of Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Unlawful Use of a Weapon with No FOID, and Possession of Cannabis.

The other 2 men who were charged are both 21 years of age, Jaquel Greer and Detrayvion Brown. Greer was charged with Possession of a Stolen Firearm, Possession of Cannabis, and Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon.
