Chicago Rockford International Airport will be holding an important safety drill soon, and we have the unique opportunity to be a part of it!

Have You Ever Been An Extra?

Have you ever been an extra for a TV show, theatre performance, etc.? I have been, and it's a fascinating experience!

I think what I liked most about being an extra for both a play and a locally-made movie was being a part of something unique, and observing how the productions come to life.

It's not often that you see an airport asking for extras, but that is exactly what is happening right now at the Chicago Rockford International Airport.

Unique Volunteer Opportunity at Rockford Airport

On Friday, April 25, 2025 the Chicago Rockford International Airport will be teaming up with several different agencies to conduct a safety drill at the airport, and it sounds like this "drill" will be a real as it gets.

So, where do you and I come in?

As I write this, the Airport still needs around 50 more volunteer extras for the drill, and this will help first responders learn life-saving treatment plans should a major tragedy occur.

Volunteer extras will need to be available from around 8 a.m. to Noon on Friday, April 25 and have the physical ability to get on and off buses, and possibly lay on the ground as a "patient".

If you are interested in participating please email Theresa James at tjames@flyrfd.com right away before all the spots fill up!
