September 11, 2001, is a day in which many of us can remember an exact moment in detail, even though we can't remember what we had for lunch last Tuesday. This is one of those moments.

On Tuesday, September 11, 2001, I was on my way to a job interview at newly opened Woodman's (passing the old Cherryvale Mall theaters) when Captain Jack broke into the middle of a song with the news of a plane hitting one of the World Trade Center towers. That moment on would lead to countless hours of news programming on most of Rockford's radio stations and across all local TV. There was also a second newspaper printed that day in Rockford, something I had never experienced.

In the short time after, when Americans trying to reclaim "normalcy" there was a another moment I will never forget, this time at Wrigley Field.

I've watched that highlight hundreds and hundreds of times and I get chills every time.
